Our New Wraps
I’ve always worn my babies. With my first I had a ring sling that I wasn’t too fond of and then with my second I bought a mamma’s milk adjustable pouch sling and fell in love with it. My second little guy loves to be carried too so it was just perfect. Well, almost perfect. See, I’m 5′5" and slight build whereas my husband is 6′4" and heavier build so we just cannot find a carrier that we both can use comfortably.
I was surfing the web the other month and came across a no-sew wrap which is great since I am many things but a seamstress I am not! So I contacted my gramma down south and sent her the information to pick up some material for me. She did and sent it up when my parents came to visit just last weekend. I cut it up and made two wraps. One 30" by 5 yards for Nic and the other 15" and 3 yards for me.
We are so happy with them. Just recently we went to the flea market to look for some cast iron cookware and when we got there my two year old was asleep. Normally this would be a problem because he sleeps during the day so infrequently that we try not to wake him up; so in the past one or the other would have to stay in the car with him but not this time!! We whipped out Nic’s new wrap and tossed (well, not tossed
) the sleeping toddler on his back. Austin procceeded to sleep for another 30 minutes while we shopped. Way too cool!
Nic is a little bit unsure about carrying the baby around but at least if he’ll carry the bigger little guy it takes a load off of me. I’ll get him carrying Xander before too long, I’m sure.
